Art Consultant Job at Wendover Art Group, Largo, FL

  • Wendover Art Group
  • Largo, FL

Job Description

Shape the Art. Influence the Client. Build the Business.

Wendover Art Group is seeking an Art Consultant who understands that great art programs require more than a strong aesthetic eye. They require an understanding of the client, brand, market, budget, and business objective behind the design.

This role is built for a design professional who can move seamlessly between creative strategy, client engagement, and disciplined execution, developing artwork programs for leading design firms, hospitality brands, ownership groups, purchasing firms, retailers, and commercial clients.

You will not simply respond to a design brief. You will help shape the creative direction, challenge the expected, and translate ideas into compelling artwork programs that can be successfully executed at scale.

About Wendover Art Group:

Wendover Art Group is a privately owned, vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of artwork serving residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and multifamily markets. Built on the values of Honor, Excellence, Team, and Smart, Wendover has grown revenue more than 12x since 2005 by setting industry standards for quality, consistency, and execution. Our mission is clear: to build the best art company in the world by delivering superior value to our customers.

Position Description

The Art Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end development of custom and programmatic artwork across Wendover’s core business, national retail partners, and commercial clients. This role blends creative direction, account development, and project execution, with direct responsibility for growing and maintaining key relationships.

Art Consultants operate as trusted advisors, leveraging Wendover’s integrated design and manufacturing platform to deliver artwork programs that align with brand standards, budgets, timelines, and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop custom and programmatic artwork across Wendover’s core, retail, hospitality, and commercial businesses
  • Build and grow relationships with A&D firms, interior designers, hospitality brands, ownership groups, purchasing firms, and national retail partners
  • Translate client vision, brand standards, market positioning, and budgets into distinctive, commercially relevant art programs
  • Curate artwork through sourcing, graphic manipulation, material selection, and finishing treatments
  • Create sophisticated concept presentations, trend boards, artwork specifications, and placement packages
  • Present creative direction and recommendations confidently to clients and internal leadership
  • Own projects from initial concept through quoting, approvals, production, and delivery
  • Partner closely with Sales, Design, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Operations to turn creative concepts into executable solutions
  • Understand account and project performance and identify opportunities to expand relationships and grow the business
  • Represent Wendover in client presentations, market visits, and industry events

What It Takes to Succeed

Successful Art Consultants pair creative credibility with commercial accountability. Top performers demonstrate:

  • A refined design point of view, but you also understand that creativity must translate into execution.
  • You can look at a space, brand, or design direction and determine what artwork will elevate it and then work through the details required to make that vision real.
  • You are equally comfortable developing a concept, presenting to a sophisticated client, managing competing priorities, and driving the details of a complex project.
  • You are curious about the market and constantly developing your perspective on art, interiors, hospitality, retail, materials, color, and emerging design direction.
  • Most importantly, you want to do more than execute someone else's ideas. You want to influence the direction, build client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the business.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years’ experience in Interior Design, Fine Art, Studio Art, or related design roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Fine Art, Art History, Studio Art, or related field
  • Strong aesthetic judgment and design fluency
  • Ability to develop art concepts, trend boards, and compelling client presentations
  • Commercial mindset and interest in account development and business growth
  • Confidence communicating with clients, designers, and senior-level stakeholders
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a high volume of projects without sacrificing quality
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook capabilities
  • Photoshop and InDesign experience preferred

Why Wendover

  • Ownership of core, retail, and commercial client relationships
  • Exposure to national retail programs and large-scale commercial projects
  • Clear performance expectations with advancement based on results
  • A meritocratic environment that rewards initiative and accountability
  • An unmatched platform combining creative freedom with manufacturing scale

Wendover offers unmatched exposure across core, retail, and commercial art programs, working directly with leading design firms, ownership groups, and national brands. Our Art Consultants have access to something unique: creative freedom backed by manufacturing scale.

You will work directly with leading designers, brands, and decision-makers while gaining exposure to the entire process, from creative concept and artwork development through materials, finishing, manufacturing, and final installation.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to develop a point of view, influence clients, create work at scale, build a business, and help shape where the art and design market goes next.

Don't just follow the market. Help define it.
